Betka Tichá

  is a circus performer and a coach of movement based in Prague.
( 2 in 1 )  

Circus performer 

She stared as a dancer at dance conservatory Duncan Centre in Prague.  Afterwards She got into Czech circus community and discovered her main discipline vertical rope. With this circus specialisation, she graduated in 2020 from Codarts - University of Arts in Netherlands.

Nowadays Betka's interest is in a research of conceptual possibilities of aerial acrobatics, floor acrobatics, juggling and handstands. She  continuously develops her artistic techniques and methods in contemporary circus through own author's work and different masterclasses, for example with Sven Damey, Sylvain Cousin, Lucho Smit.

As a performer she was part of several projects: "Jeníček a Mařenka" by Matěj Forman, "Kid" by Francesco Sgró, "Li(n)es" by Daniel Gulko, "Rezervace" by Eliška Brtnická and other projects. 

She is a cofounder Feel the Universe Circus Company and organiser and performer in project "Laboratorium 2016"

Movement coach

As a coach she connects her circus techniques, yoga, martial arts and dance experience in her classes. Betka organises movement workshops for adults where she teaches hanging positions/techniques as a compensatory movement to other movement disciplines as handstands and yoga.

She loves to teach aerial technique on rope and silks. Her main focus is on use of force in aerial acrobatics and dynamic technique in the air.  

She is organiser of Prague aerial convention and summer circus camp for teenagers. 

In nowadays she offers private classes of aerial acrobatics, compensatory movement through hanging position and fitness movement.

She is teaching in KD Mlejn, Cirqueon and Roztoč in the Czech Republic. She was teaching aerial technique on rope in preparatory program at Codarts University in Netherlands.
